Enabling "Update now" Option in AWStats
« on: December 17, 2013, 10:38:35 pm »
AWStats:

AWStats (Advanced Web Statistics) displays information about who is accessing your website. The information is displayed in graphs and tables, and divided into monthly, daily, and hourly averages. AWStats also shows details about your visitors, including referers (sites visitors link from), HTTP error codes, and facts about your visitors, including their operating systems, browsers, and countries of origin.

By default in AWStats in cPanel, we can only view the bandwidth used by the domain around 4 hours before. There is an option in AWStats like "update now", by which the current bandwidth of the domain could be updated.

For enabling this option, we have to login to the home directory of the domain:

===
/home/username/tmp/awstats
===

Where user name is the cPanel user name of the domain.

In this directory there is a configuration file called "awstats.gimpressions.com.au.conf".

Backup the file and open it using your favorite editor.

There will be an option called "AllowToUpdateStatsFromBrowser" which will be set to 0 by default. Change it to 1 and save the file.

Login to cPanel and check AWStats. Now you will be able to view the update now option.
