We can reset the Joomla admin password using phpMyAdmin. Follow the below steps to reset admin password.
- Access the phpMyAdmin in the browser
- Select the Joomla database from the list of databases. This will list database tables.
- Find and click on the table which have a suffix "_users".This table contains information about all the users.
- Click browse button on the top of the toolbar. Find the user name we have to change the password
- Press edit button for the corresponding row, and add the new password as

this is encrypted format for the word "password". Then press save button - Now we can login to the Joomla admin area using the password "password"
Note: Change the password to a strong password after login to the Joomla admin area.
