Post by: lathu_official on December 20, 2014, 03:00:05 pm
Network drive mapping is a process in which users create shortcuts of shared folders on their local computers. Shared folders can be located anywhere in the network.

In order to map a shared folder as a network drive from any remote computer administrators must follow the steps given as below:

Log on to Microsoft Windows server 2008 R2 operating system or any.
Open Computer then select Map Network Drive at same window
Select drive letter which you want to assign Map Drive
Mention remote server location along with folder or drive which you want to access

Suggestions:

You need to create share folder which you want to map at remote server.
If you want to map remote server drive like c: drive then new window will ask server administrator credentials

-Check Reconnect at logon check box to make the drive mapping persistent.
-Click Finish when done.
-To access the mapped drive go to Start > Computer. Windows explorer displays the mapped network drive along with other local volumes. However the icon of the mapped drive is different from the icons of local volumes.

Thank you.
