Post by: mohitht on December 22, 2013, 05:03:04 pm
Hi All,

If you can't access RDP to restart a windows Server Just try these simple steps to restart a windows server using a windows machine

>>  Start a continuous ping to the server you want to restart (type "ping computername -t" in command prompt)

>> Click on the start button then go to computer / My computer, right click on My Computer, and select "Manage".

>>  Right click on Computer Management, and select "Connect to another…".

>>  Then type the server hostname or it's IP address, and hit "OK".

>>  Right click on Computer Management again, and select "Properties".

>>  Click "Advanced", then Startup and Recovery "Settings", "Shutdown".

>>  Select: Action: Restart" and "Force Apps Closed: Always".

>>  Press "OK" and watch the pings stop from the server.

Thanks :)
