20. cPProtect Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ's

Notice : This product has been discontinued as of 3rd January, 2018 from our product list. Any further development and all related support services would also be discontinued. You can however continue to use this product, and any related support services would come under our per hour administrative charge of $25 (USD).

1. What is the difference between incremental backup and differential backup?  

The incremental backup needs a full backup or incremental backup to compare with the current account. On the other hand, the differential back up needs a full backup to compare with the current account.

2. Is it possible to take incremental or differential backup of databases?  

No, presently there is no feature to take incremental/differential backup of databases. A full backup is the only option here.  

3. Is incremental backup possible via FTP in cPProtect? 

Yes. Full backup, incremental and differential backups can be taken via FTP, SCP, rsync and SFTP protocols in cPProtect.  

4. Will the cPProtect plugin take backup of email?


Yes, ofcourse, cPProtect takes a full backup including backups of emails.  

5. Does it send a notification email when backup is complete?

Yes, a notification mail is send when the backup is completed. The notification mail contains the list of successful accounts and failed accounts if any. You can also verify this from the plugin interface.

6. Will cPProtect backup new cPanel accounts?  

Yes, if you have configured a plan for all accounts by selecting All from the plugin interface, any new account added to the server will be added to the backup plan also.  

7. Can the cPProtect plugin take backup of large accounts?

 

Yes, the plugin can take backup of large accounts. If you are not able to take the backup of large accounts, then increase the memory limit in the cPanel.

8. Why I can't find the option to add "All Account" ?


To avoid inconsistency, cPProtect plugin make sure that no account has included in more than one plan. If you have already scheduled an account in any other plans, you will not be able to select the "All Account" plan.


9. Does it give clients access to restore accounts by themselves? 

 

Yes, the backup is configured from WHM and customers can restore it from their respective cPanel accounts. 

 

10. What about the system load?  

 

Our scripts are optimized to minimize load. 

11. Is is there a maximum number of accounts that one scheduled backup can run?  

 

No, there is no limit in the number of accounts that one scheduled backup can run.
