Mail cannot be sent: Sendmail returns error code 111
Sometimes in Plesk, email messages cannot be sent from the server.
Webmail returns the following error:
"There was an error sending this message: sendmail returned error code 111"
The issue is usually caused by incorrect permissions on some qmail folders.
In some cases, however, it may be noted that even though the permissions are correct, the issue disappears after re-forcing the permissions on those folders.
Without checking the permissions, re-force them using the following commands:
chmod 755 /var/qmail/bin
chmod 755 /usr/local/psa/handlers
chmod 755 /usr/local/psa/handlers/hooks
